Trees, My Tree, You Are

If you were a tree, you'd be my tree.
If you were a tree, I'd be the happy bird that perches on your branches.
If you were a tree, I'd make my home and build my nest in your strong arms.
If you were a tree, you'd be my tree.

You are a tree, you are my tree.
You are where my home is.
You are where I find comfort, shelter, and shade.
You are where my roots grow.
You are a tree, you are my tree.

Intertwining in your branches,
Climbing higher than anyone on the ground can reach,
Touching your leaves,
running my fingers along your bark.
If you were a tree, you'd be my tree.
You are a tree, you are my tree.

My song of the day:
